AMPSTATE – RETURN & REFUND POLICY

AmpState is a Canadian industrial electrical supply company operated by AmpState Electric.
We specialize in industrial electrical components including MCC buckets, breakers, bus plugs, switchgear parts, automation equipment, and other specialized electrical items.

Due to the technical, safety-critical, and application-specific nature of industrial electrical products, this Return & Refund Policy is intentionally strict and designed to protect customers, end users, and AmpState from liability.

By placing an order with AmpState, you agree to the terms below.


1. All Sales Are Final (Primary Policy)

Due to the nature of industrial electrical equipment:

ALL SALES ARE FINAL.

AmpState does not accept returns, refunds, or exchanges for:

  • Incorrectly ordered parts

  • Compatibility or fit issues

  • Buyer or installer error

  • Improper installation or handling

  • Change of mind

  • Condition concerns on surplus or refurbished items

  • Delays caused by carriers, customs, manufacturers, or suppliers

This applies to new, surplus, refurbished, custom-sourced, and RFQ-based products.


2. No Returns on Industrial Electrical Components

For safety, integrity, and compliance reasons:

  • Electrical components cannot be resold once shipped

  • AmpState cannot verify whether a product has been installed, energized, modified, or exposed to load

Therefore, returns are generally not accepted under any circumstances.

This policy protects AmpState and future customers from potential electrical hazards.


3. Request for Quote (RFQ) Orders

RFQ orders involve custom sourcing and supplier coordination.

For RFQ orders:

  • No cancellations after payment

  • No returns or refunds

  • Lead times are estimates only, not guarantees

Supplier delays, backorders, freight issues, or manufacturer timelines do not qualify for refunds.


4. Shipping Damage

If a shipment arrives damaged:

  • Report damage directly to the carrier immediately

  • Keep all packaging for inspection

  • Notify AmpState within 48 hours of delivery

Carrier damage claims must be filed with the carrier, not AmpState.

AmpState is not responsible for:

  • Shipping damage

  • Lost or stolen packages

  • Misdelivered shipments

Replacement or refund is only possible if the carrier formally accepts liability and reimburses the claim.


5. Incorrect or Incompatible Orders

Customers are responsible for verifying:

  • Voltage, amperage, ratings, and specifications

  • Physical fit and compatibility

  • System requirements and application

AmpState is not liable for:

  • Incorrect product selection

  • System incompatibility

  • Installation errors

  • Engineering or diagnostic costs

No returns or refunds will be issued due to buyer error.


6. Warranty & Product Condition

Unless explicitly stated in writing:

  • Surplus, used, or refurbished items are sold as-is

  • New items may carry a manufacturer warranty only

  • Warranty claims must be handled directly with the manufacturer

AmpState is not responsible for:

  • Labor or installation costs

  • Removal or reinstallation

  • Downtime or production loss

  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

Warranty claims do not qualify for refunds from AmpState.


7. Order Cancellations

Orders cannot be cancelled once:

  • Processing has begun

  • Sourcing has started

  • Payment has been made

  • A shipping label has been generated

  • The order has shipped

If an exception is approved (rare), cancellation fees may apply.


8. Lost, Stolen, or Misdelivered Packages

Once tracking shows “Delivered”, AmpState has no obligation to replace or refund the shipment.

Delivery disputes must be resolved directly with the carrier.


9. Non-Returnable Goods (Always)

The following items are never eligible for return or refund:

  • MCC buckets & assemblies

  • Circuit breakers, contactors, overloads

  • Automation components

  • Surplus or refurbished parts

  • Custom or made-to-order items

  • Cut wires, terminals, or consumables

  • Any item connected to power or load

  • Items showing signs of installation


10. Exception Review (Extremely Limited)

AmpState may review a return request only if:

  • The wrong item was shipped due to AmpState error

  • The item is new, unused, and uninstalled

  • The issue is reported within 24 hours of delivery

AmpState may choose to:

  • Replace the item

  • Issue store credit

  • Decline the request entirely

Refunds are rare and not guaranteed.


11. Limited Return & Exchange Eligibility (Compliance Notice)

To comply with marketplace and regulatory requirements, AmpState may allow limited returns or exchanges under strict conditions only.

Eligibility

Returns or exchanges may be considered ONLY if ALL conditions are met:

  • Product is NEW ONLY

  • Unused, uninstalled, and unenergized

  • In original packaging

  • No signs of handling, mounting, wiring, or testing

  • Return request submitted within 7 calendar days of delivery

  • Written approval from AmpState is required before return

Unauthorized returns will be refused.


Return Method

  • Returns are processed by mail only

  • A return label may be issued after approval

  • Unauthorized shipments may be rejected or discarded


Restocking Fee

  • Approved returns are subject to a 25% restocking fee

  • Original shipping, customs, duties, and freight costs are non-refundable


Refund Processing Time

  • If approved, refunds are processed within 8 business days after inspection

  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method

  • AmpState reserves the right to issue store credit instead of a refund


Exchanges

  • Exchanges are accepted at AmpState’s discretion

  • Availability and price differences may apply


Final Authority

AmpState retains sole discretion to:

  • Approve or deny any return or exchange

  • Assess product condition

  • Apply restocking fees

  • Refuse unsafe or non-compliant items

This section does not override AmpState’s primary All Sales Final policy for industrial electrical equipment.
